our Associate Cadet Proposition
New for 2024 we have introduced an Associate Cadet proposition. The Young Achievers Foundation has previously focused on supporting elite juniors only, however, we want golf to be a game that is accessible for all juniors regardless of whether you have played golf before or not, or if you just play for fun. Golf can be considered a sport for adults only and we want to make it more accessible for all juniors in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. We have created the Associate Cadet proposition to provide a structured junior program, you can choose which activities and training events are applicable to your level.
For new to golf juniors we will provide online and interactive training and coaching sessions. These sessions will focus on the teaching the fundamentals of the game in a fun and engaging environment. Sessions will be either free of charge or at a subsidised cost. Interactive coaching will be available to book online and we will email all registered associate cadets when our coaching dates are available. We will limit our interactive coaching sessions to 20 juniors per session. so please check your email / this website on a frequent basis for details.
If you have experience playing golf, we will provide opportunities to attend group coaching sessions focussed on improving different aspects of your game. These sessions will be free of charge or at subsidised cost. Every year we will run a free to enter on course competition – if you have an official handicap and you are registered as an associate cadet you will qualify to enter. The competition will be free to enter and will be held at Sanctuary Lakes Golf Course, with prizes and an annual YAF trophy to be won.
It’s free to join as an associate cadet of the Young Achievers Foundation, the condition of application are:
- Applicants must be under the age of 20 before the end of the current financial year (30th June).
- Applicants must reside in the Western municipalities of Melbourne.
Once you are enrolled you will be provided with a Young Achievers Associate Cadet membership card which will enable you to access preferential prices and discounts at a variety of outlets in the Western Suburbs.
